The Bihar Sustainable Livelihood Development (BSLD) programme builds the social, economic and educational strength of rural families through self-help groups, regular savings and improved animal management.
Progress in 2024-25
- 209 self-help groups are functional with 4,000 members, each group holding its own bank account.
- 1,000 families are rearing goats with support from the programme.
- Members received SHG management, corn stone, gender, kitchen garden, improved animal management, CMDRR, FLBP and Shrividhi training.
- Swayam Samarth Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited was started in January 2024 and has been trading actively since April 2024.
- New activities introduced: Farmer Producer Organisation, Farmer Field School for goats, wall painting campaigns and support from the Animal Husbandry Department and KVK Turki.
- Animal health camps were held with the Animal Husbandry Department, giving free consultation and medicine at the doorstep.
Progressive farmers from the programme were felicitated at BAMETI, Patna, and recognised at the Kisan Mela by the Hon’ble Ministers Dr. Raj Bhushan Nishad and Shri Kedar Prasad Gupta.
